Commencement Speakers

Inspire your fellow Gauchos at commencement: apply to become a Commencement Speaker! The College of Letters and Science is currently accepting applications for Student Commencement Speaker positions for all Letters & Science 2020 Commencement Ceremonies. The application includes an essay focusing on how your experience at UCSB has transformed you, including challenges/obstacles you have overcome.

Commencement Awards

The Commencement Awards are presented each year to four graduating seniors in the College of Letters & Science. Applicants for the awards must graduate during the current year. As the primary purpose is to recognize outstanding academic achievement, nominees should have a strong academic record. The application includes an essay and a letter of recommendation from a faculty member, preferably in the student's major department.
